Michael McGriff is the author of two books of poetry, Home Burial (Copper Canyon Press, 2012) and Dismantling the Hills (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2008). He is the editor of an edition of David Wevill’s work, To Build My Shadow a Fire (Truman State University Press, 2010) and the cotranslator, with Mikaela Grassl, of Tomas Tranströmer’s The Sorrow Gondola (Green Integer Books, 2010). His poetry, translations, and essays have appeared in The American Poetry Review, Bookforum, Slate, Narrative, the Believer, and elsewhere. He is the recipient of a Lannan Literary Fellowship, a Stegner Fellowship, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. McGriff edits Tavern Books, a publishing house devoted to poetry in translation and the revival of out-of-print books. ![]()
