Joe Wilkins is the author of two collections of poems, Notes from the Journey Westward (White Pine Press, 2012), winner of the White Pine Press Poetry Prize, and Killing the Murnion Dogs (Black Lawrence Press, 2011), a finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize and the High Plains Book Awards. He is the author of the memoir The Mountain and the Fathers: Growing Up on the Big Dry (Counterpoint, 2012). He was a National Magazine Award finalist and a 2010 finalist for the PEN Center USA Award in Journalism. His poetry, essays, and stories have appeared in The Georgia Review, The Southern Review, Ecotone, The Sun, Orion, and Slate. Wilkins teaches writing at Linfield College.
