Carol Ann Davis is the author of the essay collection, The Nail in the Tree: On Art, Violence, and Parenting (2019), and two poetry collections, Atlas Hour (2011) and Psalm (2007), all from Tupelo Press. Her recent work has appeared in The American Poetry Review, The Georgia Review, and Gettysburg Review. An NEA Fellow in poetry and former longtime editor of Crazyhorse, she is a professor of English at Fairfield University, where she is founding director of Poetry in Communities, an initiative that brings writing workshops to communities hit by sudden or systemic violence.
