David Huddle is the author of eight poetry collections, six short story collections, five novels, a novella, and a collection of essays titled The Writing Habit (University Press of New England, 1994). Huddle’s most recent books are Hazel, a novel (Tupelo Press, 2019), and My Surly Heart, a poetry collection (Louisiana State University Press, 2019). His work has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, The Georgia Review, and elsewhere. He won the 2013 Pen New England Award for Poetry for Blacksnake at the Family Reunion (Louisiana State University Press, 2012), and the 2012 Library of Virginia Literary Award for Nothing Can Make Me Do This (Tupelo Press, 2011).
