Amy Newman is the author of five books of poetry, most recently On This Day in Poetry History (Persea Books, 2016), and Dear Editor (Persea Books, 2011), which won the 2010 Lexi Rudnitsky Editor’s Choice Award. Her poetry and translations of Antonia Pozzi have appeared in Delos, Hotel Amerika, The Laurel Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, the Missouri Review, Poetry, and elsewhere. Her honors and awards include the John Frederick Nims Memorial Prize for Translation, the Friends of Literature Prize from the Poetry Foundation, and a MacDowell Colony Fellowship. She is a Distinguished Research Professor at Northern Illinois University.
