Michael Chitwood is the author of several books, most recently the collection of poetry, Search and Rescue (Louisiana State University Press, 2018). His work has appeared in Field, The New Republic, Poetry, Threepenny Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. He has received the Chaffin Award for Appalachian Literature, the L.E. Phillabaum Award from Louisiana State University Press, and the Library of Virginia Literary Award for Poetry. He divides his time between Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.
