Nine Posthumous Poems
On July 2nd, 2019, James Tate’s posthumous collection The Government Lake was released by ECCO HarperCollins. The manuscript was compiled by his Estate from the stack of unpublished poems James Tate left by his typewriter in July 2015. Space limitations determined that the posthumous collection could not include every poem Tate left behind; the Estate is grateful to Blackbird for making room for these uncollected poems to have a place where readers can find them.
