Nicky Beer’s first book of poems, The Diminishing House, will be published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in early 2010. Her poetry has been published or is forthcoming in AGNI, The Kenyon Review, McSweeney’s, Poetry, and TriQuarterly, and has been anthologized in The Best American Poetry 2007 (Scribner). She has received a Literature Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, a Louis Untermeyer Scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and a Discovery/The Nation Award. Beer is currently a visiting poet at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and will begin teaching at the University of Colorado Denver in the fall of 2009.
