John Allman is the author of the forthcoming collection of short stories A Fine Romance (Quale Press, 2015), which includes three short stories first published in Blackbird. He is the author of eight books of poetry including Algorithms (Quale Press, 2012) and Lowcountry (New Directions, 2007). His work has appeared in The Yale Review, The Gettysburg Review, Hotel Amerika, and Poetry Nook. His book of poetry Walking Four Ways in the Wind (Princeton University Press, 1979) appeared in the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets. Allman was the recipient of a 1997 Pushcart Prize in Poetry and two creative writing fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.
