Louie Jon A. Sanchez is the author of two Filipino poetry collections from the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House: Kung Saan Sa Katawan (Whence in the Body, 2013) and At Sa Tahanan ng Alabok (Where the Dust Dwells, 2010), a finalist in the Madrigal-Gonzalez Prize for Best First Book. He has been a three-time recipient of the Poet of the Year award (2006, 2009, and 2011) from the Talaang Ginto (Golden List) Poetry Contest of the Philippine Government. He teaches literature and writing at the Department of English of the Ateneo de Manila University and codirects the Annual Poetry in Filipino Workshop of the Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo (Institute for the Image, Rhetoric, and Form).
