Benjamín Naka-Hasebe Kingsley’s poetry collection, Not Your Mama's Melting Pot, was selected for the 2017 Backwaters Prize. His work has appeared in Best New Poets, Boston Review, The Poetry Review, and Tin House, among others. He is the recipient of a fellowship from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and scholarships from Sewanee, Tin House, and VONA/Voices of Our Nation. He belongs to the Onondaga Nation of Indigenous Americans in New York and is the 2017–2019 Gilman School Tickner Writing Fellow.
